It has taken several days but Maxime Pinot (FRA1) has made a remarkable comeback over the last few days. He led the race for the whole of Day 1, but made a mistake on Day 2 when he launched early just after 09:00am from the Schmittenhöhe and sank to the bottom, unable to find a thermal. Since then he has steadily worked his way up through the field again – now he is in second position and just 6km from Maurer (SUI1).
