The Prologue
The Prologue is a one-day battle that takes place in the mountains surrounding the famous town of Kitzbühel - Kirchberg, three days before the main race starts, on June 8th.
Athletes have to hike and fly a 58.59km course around seven Turnpoints – almost double the distance of the 2021 Prologue. This is the first time the Prologue has come to the Kitzbühel Alps, which is renowned for its mountain trails and breathtaking views. It’s also the ideal location to host the fast and furious one-day hike and fly race. For fans and media, it’s a great opportunity to watch the action up close before the main race.
The first three athletes each win an an additional Night Pass, a strategic tool that lets them break the mandatory rest period. The results also determine the starting order of Day 2, which has a staggered start. In case of bad weather, the course will be shortened.
