Gavin McClurg (USA1) has chosen a line to the north of the high Alpine terrain to stay out of the Föhn winds. For the moment there is no sun, but he is hoping it will put in appearance soon, so that he can fly at least part of the way up the Grimsel pass. He is currently near the village of Innertkirchen. Laurie Genovese (FRA4) and Kaoru Ogisawa (JPN1) have opted to walk, along a more direct route towards Turnpoint 7, Fiesch - Aletsch Arena.
