Maurer (SUI1) is leading out as he pushes on towards TP8 Dent d'Oche. The rule is he must go around this Turnpoint to the north, anticlockwise. Athletes must pass through two rectangles on the map – purple and red. Athletes have to intersect the red rectangle first and then intersect the purple rectangle to pass the Turnpoint correctly. The time is then taken from the intersection with the purple rectangle.
