The 2021 Red Bull X-Alps takes place under Austrian law that allow elite sporting events to happen while covid restrictions remain in place. Since April 19, 2021 the Red Bull X-Alps has been classified as an elite sporting event (“Spitzensportveranstaltung”) under Austrian law, in accordance with Section 15 of Regulation BGBL ii / 111/2021. This means the race is fully recognized and can legally take place so long as all national and local laws relating to covid safety are followed. For the race, this means that spectators are not permitted and athletes and their supporters have to follow strict guidelines to ensure everybody’s safety. National covid regulations still have to be followed in other countries. We thank all of our athletes, fans, supporters and partners for respecting these restrictions to ensure a covid safe race.
The Red Bull X-Alps is a race tailor made for online followers. At the heart of the adventure lies Live Tracking, which allows fans to follow their favorite athletes in real time thanks to advanced GPS trackers – and even join them in the cockpit for a POV view.
