We sat down with Nick and talked about his Red Bull X-Alps 2021. He told us about his highlights and stand-out moments and how the race compared to his previous ones.

What was your highlight of the race?
My third day went really well, with early morning high glides, a downwinder to top land Kitzbühel, and a low safe to take me into the Wild Kaiser and into the German flats. A bit of everything in one day.

What was the toughest part for you?
The fifth day was the toughest, as I ran into one problem after another. The Bavarian wind playing tricks on me and then failing me when I really needed it, killed by storm outflows. Then the storms kept me grounded until elimination.

What was THE stand-out memory for you?
The standout memory was getting high over the Wild Kaiser and taking a long tail wind glide over the top of the moist and cloudy Bavarian air mass below.

How was this race in comparison to your other Red Bull X-Alps races?
It was really disappointing to be eliminated, knowing that I've had strong comebacks and persevered in all previous races. Now I tell people I've done it three and a half times.
