What’s happening with the chaser pack of Oberrauner (AUT2), Pinot (FRA1), Outters (FRA2) and von Känel (SUI2)? Why have they landed? “It’s just too stable,” says Martin Beaujouan, supporter to Benoît. “There is no breeze, no thermals. Everyone is on the ground. The thermals are not working. There’s a layer of high cloud, and it has some cumulus in it but at the lower level it’s just not working. Benoit found a thermal at 1,700m but it's not working below that.” The team remains philosophical however. "It’s part of the game. Chrigel took a big risk and it’s paid off. But now there are a lot of people going for 2nd.”
