As athletes fly towards the Finish in Monaco, they may well encounter the sea breeze. Today, it was forecast to begin in the late morning and reach 30kph. Sea breezes develop as the land warms, the hotter air rises, and cooler air from the sea rushes in to fill the void. In this case, it would mean the athletes, heading south to Monaco, would have to push into wind as it blows in off the ocean. How far inland it will travel today, however, remains uncertain.
