The weather from Ubimet today tells of a low pressure system over western France and a cold front  approaching from the west. This means the southerly flow will gradually increase, and there could be light to moderate foehn winds on the northern side of the Alps. We expect more cloud compared to previous days and localized showers between Turnpoints 9 and 10. Thunderstorm development is expected, especially between Mont Blanc and the Valais, but this thundery activity will spread north-/northeastward. Between TP 10 and TP 11 the risk for showers will be lower today, with generally good conditions for thermals.
