The first three athletes Benoît Outters (FRA2), Chrigel Maurer (SUI1) and Patrick von Känel (SUI2) are on each others heels just beyond Turnpoint 7 Fiesch - Aletsch Arena. They've left Fiesch and are running up the north side of the valley, the low flanks of the impressive Eiger and Jungfrau peaks. These aren't visible however, as there are still low clouds and mist.
