Thomas Friedrich (AUT3), the youngest athlete in the race is keeping pace at the head of the pack with six-time champion Chrigel Maurer (SUI1) as they lead out of the city and head onto the lower slopes of the Gaisberg. The Rookie has been following this race since he was a child, and said yesterday he still hadn't processed the fact he was now competing. It will be all too real right now!
