Thunder expected later

Race leaders Chrigel Maurer (SUI1) and Patrick von Känel (SUI2) will fly as much as possible early in the day as they are facing two obstacles later. One is the large and wide Rhine valley which will put most athletes on the ground. Anyone who flies that section will have a major advantage. The other obstacle will be the cumulus clouds above the mountains that can quickly develop into large cumulonimbus clouds, especially over the swiss alps. This will lead to an high risk of showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening hours between Turnpoint 5 Lermoos - Tiroler Zugspitz Arena and TP 7 Fiesch - Aletsch Arena. Along the main Alpine crest we still have slight to moderate föhn winds.
