So Maurer (SUI1) has definitely won the day, but he certainly hasn't won the race. There is a long, long way to go. Zoom out on the Live Tracking map and you can see his Swiss flag icon top right. He has to travel nearly 1,000km (straight-line distance) around the Alps before the race is won.
