The direct line
Benoît Outters (FRA2), who opted to follow the athletes that went south after Grubigstein, has now taken a more northern route. Although in theory it is the shortest route, he is flying at only 1300m, and he is looking at a much larger crossing over the Rhine valley than the two race leaders Chrigel Maurer (SUI1) and Patrick von Känel (SUI2). The next Turnpoint 6 Säntis is a cylinder, meaning that the athletes have to fly or hike close to the summit at 2502m.
