Four athletes are currently on their way to Turnpoint 10 Piz Palü. This is a cylinder around the summit with a radius of 3.5km. That means the athletes have to hike within 3.5km from the top of the mountain which is at 3,901m. Ferdy van Schelven (NED) and Michal Gierlach (POL) are walking up along the high altitude lake of Alpe Gera. Damien Lacaze (FRA5) has quite a long way to go from the bottom of the valley at Poschiavo (1100m) and Tobias Grossrubatscher (ITA2) has hiked up from Sondrio in the valley and is still more than 10km away from the Turnpoint.
