Maxime Pinot (FRA1), Chrigel Maurer (SUI1) and Tommy Friedrich (AUT3) are leading the race through the forest. They will know their route – athletes will have scouted the route up the hillside well in advance and will know what to expect on the hike up. One thing is for sure – they will take the fastest and most direct line.
