The Red Bull X-Alps has always been as much about camaraderie and sportsmanship as cut-throat racing, and often athletes will team up to hike together for sections, which is great for morale. currently Ferdy Van Schelven (NED) and Toma Coconea (ROU) are together in 11th and 12th places, near Gofer in the Aosta valley. Ferdy is just 300m ahead – looks as if he is waiting for his buddy.
