Maxime Pinot (FRA4) is flying and – at time of writing – has a great thermal, climbing at 2m/s (two metres a second). That's a good thermal – light thermals will lift a paraglider up at 0.5-1.5m/s, 'strong' climbs are consider 4m/s or above. So 2m/s on a slower flying day like today is good. Weather conditions are improving the further west athletes get.
