As expected with todays great forecast, the race is superfast at the front. Race leaders Maxime Pinot (FRA1), Chrigel Maurer (SUI1) have already passed Courmayeur, the Italian entry point of the Mont Blanc tunnel, that exits near Chamonix on the French side. It's also the start of the south cable car up to Aquille du Midi. The athletes are climbing up on the flanks facing northwest, at 3000m.
