All over the field of athletes hiking is what they do. At the back, athletes are hiking into and out of Turnpoint 4 Chiemgau-Achental, with Gavin McGlurg closing the lines there. Except for Andrei Mashak (RUS) who is still seen hiking towards Turnpoint 3 Kitzbühel-Hahnenkamm.  On their way to Turnpoint 5 Lermoos-Tiroler Zugspitz Arena, athletes are all hiking, except, remarkably, the Running Man Toma Coconea (ROU) who is flying just south of the Walchsee. Closer to the Turnpoint and north of Zugspitze, all are grounded because of strong winds.
