GIRARD: 'GAME OVER'

Antoine Girard (FRA3), who has retired from the race with a knee injury, says: 'Game over! The race was finished the day of the knee injury to hope for the podium but we still wanted to go to Monaco in flight. We tried for four days to fly if we didn't walk. But the weather didn't want to collaborate and we could not move forward. The last day we made good progress but it was not possible to reach the turnpoint in flight and the next day was not better on the forecasts ... The knee wouldn't have held and I preferred to abandon than to continue and further damage the knee. It's always difficult to abandon a race ... it will now be necessary to repair the physical and morale. I still keep smiling by flying!'
