The chasing group that chose the northern route, including Maxime Pinot (FRA1) and Simon Overrauner (AUT2) are hiking up and are at 1800m preparing for flight. Skies look clear and the flying conditions are looking good. If conditions turn on as expected, their 40km lag on the race leaders can be made up within one or two hours flying. Paul Guschlbauer (AUT1) has the same plan but is behind them by about an hour's hike at 1200m.
