Downwind flying

The athletes have an almost perfect wind direction for flying to the Turnpoint at Wagrain-Kleinarl this afternoon. The wind is from the northwest – and you can see by the tracks that they are all flying almost directly southeast. Flying downwind like this allows athletes to cover ground much more quickly than if they had to fly into-wind or crosswind.
