COCONEA FLIES TO 6000M

Toma Coconea (ROU) reached 6000m in the air today, according to his supporter Adrian Miclea. ‘We are going to him now, he has just landed,’ Miclea said by phone. ‘But I think it is right, 6070m or something.’ The flight was around Turnpoint 11 Monte Viso. Toma flew 212km today and has only recently landed. ‘He is all ok, but he is upset that he has now landed a little early,’ Miclea said. Flying above 4000m by paraglider in the Alps is rare, and 5000m almost never done. So to reach 6000m on a paraglider is almost unprecedented. Miclea added: ’I gave him a GoPro – I hope he had it on!’
