The Red Bull X-Alps 2021 is incredibly exciting in many aspects. The months leading up to the start of the event have seen numerous challenges connected with the Covid-19 pandemic. Race organizers and athletes alike have had to deal with ever changing rules that countries had set including border controls, testing and quarantine requirements. 

Despite all this, the organization teams successfully pulled off an absolute world class event. Athletes and teams are crossing five countries and are competing in a truly international race.

"The Red Bull X-Alps is much more than just a race," says race founder Ulrich Grill. "It's an adventure first and foremost and at the heart of any adventure is a spirit of comradeship between everyone taking part. That's what sets us apart."

Red Bull X-Alps has always had a large and diverse crowd of fans, from adventure and endurance enthusiasts to core paragliding enthusiasts. Local as well as global media have been covering the event from the very start during the Prologue in Wagrain-Kleinarl in Austria, through Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy back into Austria for the finish in Zell am See.
