Dominika Kasieczko (POL) has been eliminated from the Red Bull X-Alps 2019 as the last-placed athlete in the race. Despite being 25km behind the next athlete, Alex Villa (COL), she battled to the end to reach Turnpoint 4 Kronplatz.

She reached Kronplatz and signed in this morning, only to receive the Axeman’s call 20 minutes later. But her final push is a great example of the spirit and endurance that makes the world’s toughest adventure race so special. ‘It was just about little goals,’ she said modestly.

One of two women in this year’s race, Kasieczko was a supporter in the 2017 event. She covered 654km in total, with 275km of those completed on foot.

The axeman will return in 48 hours. Follow all the action on Live Tracking
