Growing up in the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland, Patrick von Känel got used to seeing his parents circling the sky on paragliders. By the age of seven, he was already training on the ground, and by 14, he was in the air.
Later he became a protégé of Chrigel Maurer before challenging him in the skies. This is the fourth time Patrick is taking part in Red Bull X-Alps after three outings in which he’s always been top ten and in the past two editions, a contender for the podium. Strong on the ground and a great pilot in the air, he’s also strong tactically with a great team behind him.
