Christian ‘Chrigel’ Maurer has been described as ‘the perfect Red Bull X-Alps athlete’ – and with good reason. He’s an incredibly strong and fast mountain athlete. He’s a brilliant paraglider pilot, great at flying cross country. He can launch and land anywhere and seems to see lines and possibilities that others do not see. Most importantly, he excels in the kind of rough and ‘non flyable’ conditions that athletes can face every day.

Few sports have seen a reign of dominance like Chrigel’s. He won his first edition as a young rookie in 2009 and every edition since then, improving year on year to stay ahead of the pack.
