When and why did you begin paragliding? My paragliding fever started in 2003. It was a change from climbing and I found what I love.
Do you paraglide competitively? List rankings and events.I did Red Bull "Dolomiten Mann" 4 times, 1 time "Rise and Fall", a few tasks in competitive XC.
What is your mountaineering experience?8 Years of sport climbing, plus hike and fly on the mountains wherever I am.
What is your paragliding experience?I've been teaching paragliding for 12 years and safety training for 3 years on the Hallstätter Lake, plus 7 years on Lake Garda. When I have time I am doing Hike and Fly, XC paragliding (Ozone Enzo), Acro (Emelie 17m²), and have been in the air since 2004.
What does your typical training week consist of?Ther is no typical list, just being outside all the time.
What are your best and worst adventure/flying moments?Worst: With the Ozone R11 in a 50 kmh valley wind close to the Mölltaler glacier. It was a small side valley with no landings and 50 minutes time to get out of there. All flights have different and nice moments, so i can´t say there is a best moment.
What are the sporting moments you are most proud of?All of them!
When and how did you first hear about Red Bull X-Alps?When it first started.
Have you competed in Red Bull X-Alps before and if so, when?No
What appeals to you about Red Bull X-Alps?The option to find somthing new, and to go different ways to one goal.
What will be your strategy during the race?Find the right route and keep going to the end.
Why do you think you will make it to the finish? The most difficult thing is the mental aspect, but I am sure i can reach the goal.
What scares you the most about the event?Getting less food!
Have you ever done anything of this magnitude before? No
