Happy New Year!

It’s going to be a good one and we can’t wait for it to get going.

When the stars are all aligned, you know it’s going to be a great year – and here at Red Bull X-Alps, we are super excited about what 2017 will bring.

We have a fantastic lineup of athletes. For the last few weeks we’ve been profiling them, looking at everyone from the race rookies to firm favorites to familiar faces to see who is going to own the Red Bull X-Alps this year.

Check them out here; Meet the Frenchies, Servus to the Austrians, Gavin's Back, Let the Show Begin, Alpine Eagles, Bavaria and Benelux, Pal Takats Returns and The Eastern Veterans

We also look forward to checking in with the athletes’ training and sharing their endeavors as they build up towards the race. With it being off-season for flying in the northern hemisphere, expect many to be building their fitness in the mountains, while others head for warmer climates in the south to stay airborne.

The route also promises some surprises when it is finalised. That will be announced at the end of March, as it has been in previous editions. But we can reveal that once again it’s going from Salzburg to Monaco (something that is not always a certainty). The athletes will for sure be tested to the limit and will need to be in incredible physical shape. It will be an amazing adventure!

Like 2015, there will also be a race Prologue on the 29th of June. Mark it in your diary – for anyone wanting to watch the race, the Leatherman Prologue offers one of the best experiences for spectators as all the action is centered around the beautiful lakeside town of Fuschl am See, just east of Salzburg.

We can’t wait to see you there and online – following the best live action feed from the world’s toughest adventure race.
