The last morning of the race. The sun came up on the col the madelein. Ferdy

made a glide to st. Jean de maurienne. Now heading for the col de galibier.

Good morning, it's looks very good this morning so i think we will fly

Preparing for the last climb today. Col du joly. Sleeping in hauteluce and

having pizza tonight. Nice.

Not only friends from new zealand, also from switserland came by. Bas walked

a great part with Ferdy. Thanks Rhea for the longarm:).

What a surprise. Some friends from new sealand came by. This makes Ferdy

happy on this long wet day.

This morning we climbed up from Kalpetran and took off from there. Ferdy

made it to Sierre and is now walking to Martigny.

Nature can be so nice :)

Hi everybody, yesterday we could fly. Ferdy went a bit to the north and had

to walk again. It was still a nice day. This morning climbing just before

the simplon pass. Thats where ferdy took off. Ofcourse we try to enjoy the

country site. Hope we make it to tp6

Time to go again. Walking al day, rain till now and a good lunch. Yesterday

we made it to the adamekhutte, this morning left at four o'clock, ferdy went

up and anton went for the car. We met on the other site of dachstein. Ferdy

is feeling good. There are always some small thing, but thats live. Ciao

today we went to the dachstein to check the glacier. Ferdy took his Glider and checked it from the sky. After that he flew back to fuschl, the campground. After that we packed everything for the race, tomorrow morning we leave for Salzburg for the start. lets get lose

We arrived on Monday, from then we had to arrange many things. Get us registered, get the official clothing and stickers, putting the stickers on the glider and car, had a photo-shoot, got the gear checked, attend a few briefings, meeting the other teams and of course talked a lot about the race. Its not that we get bored, but we like it to be Sunday now:)

I am ready for it, just some days left before the race starts, we are probably leaving sunday or monday towards the alps.

Just want to say thanx to all the people that supported us allready!

We covered the distance from salzburg to mt blanc on our trip, and it was great. we figured out things were we weren't sure of seeing it on maps. and it was good to see it in real life.

I had the opportunity to test the new wing that UP international made us it looks like it is flying Great!!! also the harness from woody valley is really good, nice and comfortable.

Anyways it was good! i ve made some short movies again check it out yourself.

Ok so next week, we are planning a trip to the Alps to discover the route further more. togheter with Anton and his camper we are leaving tonight to Garmisch Patenkirchen. We will pay a visit to UP paragliders, i will pick up a test glider for the upcoming x alps model. Then we will try to fly and drive along the route till the Matterhorn to have a look at everything. We ll hope the weather will be good to do as much as we can in the air! hope it will be interesting.

I ve got my new harness...

This week i should receive my harness, the new woody valley x alps harness. I wonder what it looks like! Hope it is lite and comfy! I ve got news from Up as well, they are making the last loops on the lines in order to trim the glider perfectly. I hope it will fly like a f 16 with the glide of a sailplane. and the safety off a ....... what ever. Just really excited to see what we will get. We are planning a trip to the alps the first week of june to do some research on the route, and try out...

Taking off in the x alps isn't always easy I heard. I ve got my own flyable places, but taking off on these places isn't always easy. The takeoff is about 4 meters wide. in front some trees and a powerline of 10000 volts wich you don't make in glide when there is no wind. So its quite an exciting place.

Just one off my typical training days, i try to walk between 40 and 50 kilometres, just to get used to the long distances. You get a little bit annoyed all tough the scenery is quite nice. Anyway take a look at the movie, it might be funny.

Anton bought a new campervan, this will be my sleeping place during the race. These pictures where taken in front of my house while having a little Mountainbike trip in the surroundings. Whe are quite lucky to have this luxury! Everything you need inside! even a shower. Training is still going well hiked and runned more than 100 km this week. Beside work its quite a challenge.

This was a nice flight from my local flying site in Coo, in the ardennes near Spa.

Wonderful day with nice high cloud base, 96km landed in Mayen Germany. longest flight so far in belgium this spring, so I had a great day. Only coming back home was a bit harder. no luck with getting a ride home,in the end my brother came to the rescue. Thanks bro.

Nothing special this week, just kept on training at home. Here are a few more pics of last week in the alps.

After staying three weeks in Superdevoluy in the french alps, i made some nice hikes and two flights off Pic de Bure. Some cross country skiing, and running made it 3 nice weeks.
